Penelope Comans, Editor

I am pleased to introduce Hydrocarbon World – Volume 6 Issue 2. In this issue, we cover the latest technologies, industry trends and analysis with contributions from leading universities and companies in areas such as catalysts, heat exchangers, sulphur management, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and processing.

The oil and gas industry is continually researching and developing technology for hydrocarbon refining to reduce emissions to protect the environment. In this issue the following authors contribute to this

important growing area of research: Ivano Miracca discusses the potential for CO2 capture and storage for the increased reduction of Greenhouse Gases in the oil and gas sector; Vince Atma Row and Kevin Robinson examine the importance of removing serious contaminants from hydrocarbon streams to not only protect the functionality of equipment but to also comply with environmental regulations; Graham T Polley, Edward M Ishiyama and Simon J Pugh consider the importance of improving pre-heat train performance by reducing fouling which in turn reduces CO2 emissions.

I would like to thank all the authors for their valuable contributions to this edition. Dear readers,
