Who should attend this course?
Delegates will normally be persons of a trade or process background needing an understanding of the operation and uses of control valves.
Course Description
The programme for control valves technology will use both classroom and workshop learning to introduce the theory and give practical experience of control valves. When possible the type of control valve covered in the course will be similar to that used on the plant of the participant. Depending on the previous experience of the participants the course can be tailored to their requirements. An assessment will take place at the end of this course which must be passed in order to achieve the City & Guilds certificate.
Programme Objectives
This programme provides an introduction to the different types of control valves and valve actuators used in the process industries.
At the end of the two days you will be able to:
- Appreciate the various types of control valve used in the process industry including globe, diaphragm, butterfly, and ball and solenoid valves.
- Appreciate the different types of valve actuator including pneumatic (spring and diaphragm and piston) and electrical actuators.
- Appreciate valve positioners and why they are used.
- Understand the different types of valve characteristics.
