Newly appointed engineers, geologists, operators, and transferees from other sectors. A reasonable command of written and spoken English is required
Course Description
The programme will cover most of the basic theory involved in process engineering. The course will cover the description and operating principles of some of the main equipment used in the process industry along with some of the main unit operations.
An assessment will take place at the end of this course which must be passed in order to achieve the City & Guilds certificate.
Programme Objectives
This course has been designed to give the participants an introduction to the fundamentals of process engineering. It will provide the participants with the required knowledge of the process industry in order to successfully progress further in this field.
At the end of the five days you will have:
- An understanding of the uses of pipework in the process industry and an understanding of the methods for pipe material selection.
- An understanding of the components, operation and application of process equipment such as valves, pumps, heat exchangers, distillation and absorption columns.
- An understanding of the general services associated with the process industry, such as, air, vacuum, gas and electricity.
- An understanding of some of the methods used for the safe storage of liquids and gases.
