"The course is intended for staff new to waste management concepts and activity and includes several site visits. Participants are likely to be drawn from facilities, maintenance management, storage, transport and logistics departments with responsibility for management of industrial, commercial and domestic waste.
It is designed to:
- Give a general overview of environmental management issues and systems
- Develop an understanding of the underlying principles of waste management
- Enable participants to relate the principles to their own actual operating environment and day-to-day experience
- Provide participants with techniques and tools for development of appropriate policies and procedures
